About Our Team

At Shine Care, we know our success depends on the people who make up our team. That’s why we don’t just look for experience - we look for character, kindness, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

We welcome people from all walks of life: whether you’re an experienced carer or joining complex care for the first time, what matters most is your attitude, your values, and the way you connect with others. Do you bring compassion, patience, a sense of humour, or a hobby you can share? These are the qualities that help our clients feel comfortable, valued, and understood.

Our team member's attitude is person-first, rather than being task-driven. They build meaningful, lasting relationships with the people they support, creating trust and stability through consistency and care. With the right training, guidance, and encouragement, you’ll have the tools you need to thrive, succeed, and progress - and the chance to be part of something that truly changes lives.

If this sounds like the career adventure for you, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Because Your Wellbeing Deserves Just as Much Care

Your wellbeing matters. All team members have access to confidential mental health and wellbeing support through the Wisdom app - offering guidance, mindfulness tools, and 24/7 support. Because when our people feel good, our clients feel it too.

  • More Than a Team - We’re a Family

At Shine Care, you’re part of more than a team - you’re part of a family. We’re a close-knit, compassionate group who look out for one another, celebrate wins, and pull together through challenges. Our family values are the foundation of everything we do.

The Career Progression

At Shine Care, a role in care is more than just a job - it’s the start of a rewarding career. The start of your own adventure in care. We believe in recognising potential, nurturing talent, and providing every opportunity for our team to grow and achieve their goals.

Many of our team members join us as Support Workers and go on to build long-term, fulfilling careers. With comprehensive training, mentorship, and support, you’ll have the chance to gain new qualifications, take on more responsibility, and explore different areas of the organisation as your confidence and skills grow.

This story is just one example of the many paths available within Shine Care. Whether your passion lies in direct support, training and mentoring, or care coordination and management, there are always new opportunities to learn, grow, and make a difference.

A Career that Grows with You

“I started my journey with Shine Care as a Support Worker in 2019, where I quickly gained experience working in different environments and getting to know the people we support. During this time, I completed my Care Certificate and began working towards my NVQ in Health and Social Care with support from Shine.

I was then promoted to Senior Support Worker and given the opportunity to deliver the Level 2 Oliver McGowan Training. This experience helped me build confidence and take on new responsibilities.

After that, I progressed into a Team Leader role — a big step forward that helped me develop both personally and professionally. I supported staff within services, ensured the people we support received the highest quality of care, and helped new team members settle in by offering guidance and sharing my own experiences.

I’ve now moved into my current role as Care Administrator, where I’ve been able to build on the skills and knowledge I’ve gained over the years. I now assist with rotas, training, and recruitment — supporting our teams in a different but equally meaningful way.”
